I was passing along some links to Kirsten who had expressed significant boot lust after seeing the ones I was wearing to the Mardi Gras party on Saturday night. I went over to Stompers to get the direct page link... lo and behold, they're offering their entire stock of New Rocks at a third off, to clean out the place... even the two new styles (faboo!). Unfortunately, the ones I was immediately interested in (Shields, entertaining now that I think about it given my attachment to the show of the same name) were sold out in my size. I'd never seen them before, and I know that New Rock has a habit of making tons of different styles and not necessarily selling the same design to any two dealers. Worse, Stompers said they're cleaning out *all* of their New Rock stock, and will only be restocking one style. Doh.
Of course, the style in question was one I'd drooled over before, and contemplated getting similar ones from Vixens and Angels...
Dammit, I'm supposed to be saving money!
But they're cheaper than I'm likely to ever see them again...
But you just bought all those rivets! And the leather for your armor!
That's why there are credit cards, right?
You need to pay your taxes!
Already got that covered, remember?
*sigh*
So the older, wiser part of me lost out to the impulsive part with boot lust. Guess I now have another pair to rotate through at Origins this year :)
In the meantime, I think it's time for another fundraiser. Back to Ebay to sell off some Runequest fanzines (those should more than cover the recent purchases) and giant robots. In the meantime, I've got supplies to make more "toys", if any of y'all are interested... (Might be nice if I could *EVER* finish the satchel for Fetch, though if memory serves, it's not like he's going to be hitting any events any time soon)
